Why Do Cats Run Away From Home?

I am a cat lover. I also have a lovely cat named Mili.

Our beloved cat is very dear to us. When they are not with us or move away from us, we become depressed

Sometimes it is seen that our cat wants to go outside the house or runs away from the house.

This can be due to various reasons. Some of the reasons are mentioned below.

Your Cat is in heat:

One of the reasons why cats run away can be that your cat is in heat. He needs a partner now.

So he wants to go out. So find her a partner of the opposite sex.

And if you don’t want your cat to have babies, get her neutered or spayed quickly

Your cat need independence:

Cats are independent animals. They like to be independent.

They like to play in an independent place, so they want to go outside to play independently.

Or to roam freely. For this problem, arrange enough playtime for him at home or buy new toys for him and play with him regularly.

Your Cat needs grass:

Grass is very beneficial for cats. Their many physical problems are solved through grass.

So they need to feed grass regularly. If they do not get enough grass,

they will want to go outside the nest for grass. So arrange cat grass at home.

You can also plant some cat grass seeds in your house so you don’t have to find cat grass every time.

providing them with a natural source of enrichment.

Your cat needs to give birth:

When pregnant cats want to give birth, they need a comfortable and safe place. For this reason, they may go outside to find the safest and most comfortable location.

If your cat is pregnant, provide her with a comfortable and safe place in your house.

If possible create a cozy nesting area to accommodate her needs.

they see something outside:

Cats are curious animals. If the outside of your house has any animals like rats or birds, they may need to go outside to hunt them.

For this reason, they have to go outside of your house.

For their natural instincts, cats may venture outside occasionally.

Something disturbing in your house:

If any unknown person comes to your house or another animal comes into your house, then the cat feels disturbed and wants a comfortable zone for itself.

Sometimes they are afraid of other people or other animals.

See other cats in outside:

Sometimes, cats naturally seek other cats to play or roam with.

If your cat sees other cats outside, it may want to play or roam with them.

This might be another reason why a cat wants to go outside.

They need more space to live:

If your house is small or your cat does not have enough space to live comfortably, they may feel confined and anxious.

They might seek more space outdoors to live independently and explore freely.

Providing opportunities for outdoor exploration can help satisfy their natural instincts and promote their well-being.

Your house doesn’t have proper cat-proofing:

If your house is not cat-proof or if you often leave windows and doors open carelessly, your cat can easily escape outside.

Cats don’t always understand what they’re doing, so you need to be careful about it.

Consider installing window screens or keeping doors closed to prevent accidental escapes.

So, we should manage proper space for our cats, and if they need to be neutered or spayed we should get them neutered and spayed.

We want to be careful every time. If our door or window is opened, we should close them.

We should cat-proof our house by securing any potential hazards.

Buy them proper toys and give them plenty of time to play. Find out which kind of toy they like the most and buy it for them.

By playing properly, they get tired and they don’t want to go outside.

You should also provide them with cat trees so they can exhibit natural behaviors.

Give their meal at the proper time and introduce some new food. If they like cat chocolate or any other treats.

often give them their special foods to keep them happy and healthy.
